What is the best radar solution for the CT5-B BW? The usb port is in the console, and there is no 12v or usb in the dash, so it seems only way to use a radar detector will be to have a long cord going from windshield to the armrest. Recently lost my escort solo and found out they are no longer making cordless detectors. Thanks!!!

I'm hoping for something like this will be available when the time comes. My car is still 5 months (est) away...

Installed the harness purchased from this page: Cadillac XT5.

I used the install video found here:

I am pretty unhandy, and could not get one of the clips loose on the small cover that allows the whole thing to slide out, but the entire cover slid back easily, and I just worked around it while it was still on the mirror. I am sure with more force I could have gotten it off, but I didn't want to break anything. I had to relocate the original harness as they show at 2:30 of the video, One interesting observation - mirror only gets power when the engine is running and not in the accessory mode, so keep that in mind when you are testing.

Normally I tap into the fuse block. I don’t have my car yet, but I would assume there is a fuse block on either or both of the kick panels.

I did a blendmount and tapped at the mirror. I've done blendmounts on all my cars before. They are a clean install.

Valentine 1, Gen 2 with the Valentine Savy unit. Super clean mounting. I have this setup on my Vette the same way so I can transfer the Valentine 1 from one car to the next very easily.

I currently (on my for sale c63s) have an escort max 360 hardwired into the mirror and hanging off a sticky cup mount on the windshield. Every few weeks in the summer I’ll come back to it dangling by the wire as the heat pops it off. I won’t be installing a detector on the blackwing until we have a really good seamless mount that attaches with hardware to the mirror so it doesn’t keep falling off

the blendmount solves that... it attaches to your rear view and if you use a mirror tap, it almost looks like it was factory done
Can you share a pic of yours if you have it mounted like that?

This is the Valentine One, Gen 2 unit mounted with the provided suction cup mount. I ran the cable through the trim on the "A" pillar to the Valentine One Savy unit so it's unseen. Very clean and the suction cups do not release even under the stress of a 110-degree heat index day in Houston.

Anyone running a laser jammer? Had one on my S4 and saved my ass at least three times. The one I had has no more updates since the company no longer makes them.

The Antilaser Priority is probably the best, but concerned the heads are too large to mount them inside the grill without interrupting airflow.

Radar detectors are useless against laser guns which is pretty much all that is used in cities. On the highway a radar detector is good because it warns me when highway patrol is on the scene of an accident.
