CT4 BW M6 Shift Knob Swap?

Love the stock shift knob on my BW but curious if anyone has tried to remove / replace the shift knob on a CT4 BW M6?
Used to be able to twist counter clockwise and unthread but for some reason I get the feeling there’s a little more to it with these.
Thoughts?

If its the same as 5BWs, theres a T20 or 25 torx holding the shift knob in place. Didnt mess around too much on how to separate the knob from the boot.

Do you have a pic of where? I’m not seeing any exposed set screws on mine

How do you remove the center console? Trying to find screws but none exposed. Likely pull up on clips or something?

Anyone able to provide a step-by-step on how to remove the trim to access the torx screw? I'm going to switch my alcantara one to leather as it annoys the piss out of me.

Here I used the forum search feature. I have removed the trim panel and shifter assembly from my 5BW and I can assure you the attachment is the same as the Camaro. I'm not sure the knob can be separated from the boot, but good luck.

I like the stock shifter but my alcantara is in rough shape despite efforts to clean & restore (I bought it used). I tend to cruise with my hand on the shifter and the feeling of pilled material is driving me nuts!
