26 BW charging

I have had my 26 BW for 10 days now and live it and have just over 500 miles on it. I haven't driven it in a few days and won't for two so I decided to hook up the Caddy trickle charger I bought with the car. After giving up trying to remove the plastic cover on the + side I hooked it up the the jumping ports under the hood.

It started with the battery at half charge. The last Caddy I bought for myself was the 06 STS-V. Over the past 20 years I can say it's gone through more batteries than tires. I haven't driven it much in the past few years but it ate a battery.

I want to hard wire the leads to the BW battery and have the pigtail in the trunk. Has anyone listed how to access the BW battery without destroying the trunk lining?

You need to remove the rear trunk panel that has the chrome hooks on it. Then you pull out the side trim piece. That gives you best access to the battery for R&R.

I found that using the connections under the hood was much simpler and cleaner than getting to the battery in the trunk. Both places accomplish the same thing for your battery tender. Check out this thread to see how I routed mine as to not open the hood or the trunk for my battery tender.

I'm looking for some ideas to dress up the engine bay on my 5BW. I would love to see what other members have done.

So far I've applied Cerakote Ceramic Trim Coat to all the plastic pieces and replaced the engine cover with a carbon fiber one.

On the list of things to do is powder coating the SC lid and strut tower bar.
