Been waiting since March, when I put money down to order a 2024 CT4-V Blackwing, and just today (Fri 6/14) got the "1100 Preliminary Order Accepted" on a 2025 model year CT4-V Blackwing. 84 days just to get my ticket to the goat rodeo. Dealer claimed it was one of only 8 allocations in the country so far, but I have no way to verify that.

Hopefully this is good news for anyone else who's waiting to order one.

1100 does not mean it has an allocation. It merely means the order has been placed by the dealer. 2000 is when it is accepted by GM.
Oh. Sorry. This is my first time through this process. I thought it was real progress.

congrats. what spec did you order?
Manual. Radiant Red, bronze rims. Black interior with performance seats & steering wheel. Tech package with Heads-up Display and Performance Data & Video Recorder. And the trunk mat, because it'll be my daily driver, and I use my trunk a lot (mostly carrying guns to practice, leagues, matches, and coaching), and it was, surprisingly, cheaper than the WeatherTech version. No sunroof (concerned about headroom). I like the look of the CF pieces, but can't justify the cost. So, nothing special options-wise; just the bits that I wanted.

There’s plenty of BW4s sitting on dealers’ lots at huge discounts, why wait? If you order it through a dealer, chances of a discount are slim and you’ll lose $20,000 the minute you drive it off the lot. Why not save that $20,000, and buy it off of dealers lot, just saying!

Where do you see the list of 4BWs sitting on dealer lots? In the looking I've done, I saw some $90k special editions, and a few that are not even close to what I want. I saw one in Delaware that was close, but had the automatic transmission, and that's a deal breaker. When I talked to a dealer in March, the only discount they had was $3k off from Cadillac, plus another $1k for Costco members. The only other thing they offered was "special" financing that was not special at all. But if you know of places offering huge discounts, I'm eager to hear about it.

You seem like a real sharp new car buyer, judging by this thread. I’m sure you’ll have no problem finding ‘24 BW4 like everyone else on the forum has. If not, you have a 25 coming. Enjoy!

I wouldn't say they "sit" - but they come in and go out. You just need to look everyday, and call every dealer than has one. 99% of the time they will be customer cars or gone before you get there... but you only need to hit the 1% once.

that's what happened to me - one drive to albany from boston later and i had my 24 4BW. The other concession is you dont get to build your exact spec, so you have to decided how flexible you are. In my case, I got a sunroof I didn't want and black instead of grey. But that was worth it to avoid the uncertainty and waiting for an allocation to me.

I got $3K off MSRP and 0.9% financing for 36 months.

I'm having the same problem, finding what I want on a lot. I have three requirements and I can't find a single 4BW within 2000 miles (6MT, Coastal Blue, Jet Black mini-perforated). I look everyday, but will probably need to order a 25 model.

The coastal blue makes it hard. The other two are pretty easy!
That said I ended up with a black one which I had to compromise on - looks great for 30 seconds after it's washed and then looks terrible!

I know you're being sarcastic, but I haven't bought a new car in over 20 years. Sorry for not knowing what I don't know. I haven't found "plenty of BW4s sitting on dealers’ lots at huge discounts". I've only found a few that are even close, and they're all listed at MSRP (or very close to it), so I can only assume you're looking somewhere I'm not. I'd appreciate it if you'd help me out by pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for that AC2024... I definitely haven't looked every day (more like once every week or two), but that's similar to what I've found so far. For me the Radiant Red, 6MT, no sunroof, and the better seats are requirements, with a strong preference for the PDR, and medium preference for the bronze rims and HUD. The only one I've seen for sale that checked all those boxes was a used one with a salvage title. I decided that I'm ok with waiting a bit to get the options I wanted, which is how I've found myself 3 months later putting an order in for a 2025 model.

Makes sense! Yea when i say every day i mean everyday. I called the dealer within 30 mins of mine going live.

You should try to get an allocation for 2025. Your must have list is unlikely to be filled on a lot. Red+6mt alone will be rare.

But same principle, start calling dealers and asking if they have an allocation, get on waitlists, etc. its an absolute numbers game- you only need one “yes”. Whether thats 1 out of 1 or 1 out of 1000 is up to you.
