    2026 allocation

I think you might have unrealistic expectations for how this is going to go. If you're task oriented (or have a sense of entitlement) you're in for a rough ride. You can put an order in any Cadillac dealer, but most "orders" are unlikely to get served an allocation by GM. The dealers know...

    Am I crazy?

I guess the only part I can disagree with is the premise that one needs to explore the limits to enjoy a car, especially if you're not a naturally talented/trained wheelman. Even though Miata isn't always the answer, it's highly capable of completely irresponsible speeds on public roads. Not...

    5th gen V?

I can assure you that the basic architecture of the new small block is designed to have a number of potential variants just like LS and LT did. Not saying there will be many variants, but 100% there will be the potential for HP versions along side whatever pedestrian version that goes in the...

    5th gen V?

With GM pumping the regenerative brakes on their EV program and the next generation small block in development, what I once thought extremely unlikely seems to be more plausible by the day; a 5th gen V/BW sedan? https://www.thedrive.com/news/gms-next-gen-small-block-v8-will-arrive-in-2027

CT5-V Corsa cat-back exhaust installation tips & pointers, along with my thoughts/review (short video included)

It's all good bud! It's just one of those minor personal preference deals. Not to hyjack the thread, but I guess it is related with an informal poll: Would it increase or decrease the appeal of my original BW if I put the Corsa on it? Not which would bring more money necessarily, rather...

CT5-V Corsa cat-back exhaust installation tips & pointers, along with my thoughts/review (short video included)

Yea it was totally drama free other than an initial dealer misunderstanding (for his Audi) but otherwise it was all good. Nick is a good dude and I think this place is largely made up of similar folk. Like I said in the other thread, it was one of those opportunity doors that was personally...

CT5-V Corsa cat-back exhaust installation tips & pointers, along with my thoughts/review (short video included)

As Nick mentioned in his write up, even in tour mode the valves open depending on throttle position. My daily mode is "sport" and for me the volume is just too much. It's not a bad sound, its amazing, but it's definitely not a sleeper anymore. If you're one that is disappointed that you can't...

CT5-V Corsa cat-back exhaust installation tips & pointers, along with my thoughts/review (short video included)

I have Nick's BW now and I must be getting old because the Corsa catback is too much noise for me. If there is someone in NorCal with OEM cat back that wants to work out a trade/sale please PM me. I have a truck and can take care of the transport.

CT5-V Might be selling my BW - any interest on here?

She's been rehomed to Napa! The driver backing up on to that ramp suspended by chains from the upper deck was almost too much for me to watch. Having (2) 5BW in my garage has me elevated to new heights of contentment I never thought imaginable. It's going to be hard to let go of the OG 5...

    Lotus Emira

This would give me pause if I was in the market for a Lotus Emira: Give me V8's or give me death!! https://www.thedrive.com/news/the-lotus-emiras-v6-cant-pass-emissions-so-it-may-get-a-v8-instead

How the heck do I replace the battery!

Ctek is a very good product. I have converted to the complete Noco Genius line and on the 5BW I have use their direct mount on board battery charger. It's permanently mounted under hood (it's designed specifically for this) so while storing I just open the hood and plug in. Its a good time to...

How the heck do I replace the battery!

LOL, Don...of course it prevents it from going "dead", that is PRECISELY the point of installing one on a car that is used infrequently. The more sophisticated ones do extend the life of the battery, but that is secondary to keeping the battery in a healthy state of charge and ready to go when...

    The Blackwing Spotting Thread

101 NB near Cloverdale, 5/16. Saw this Rift with Bronze, guessing '22 model. Not a fan of white tones on cars but this is a really nice combo, particularly with the tint color tone (bronze)

CT5-V Might be selling my BW - any interest on here?

Well, there was too much coincidence in this thread and my desire for a this quite special car for me to pass up; I bought Nick's BW! It was a bit of a coaster ride on Nick's deal for the R8 and we both got wobbly on the whole deal, but regrouped and made it happen. Now I'm in a mini goat...

CT5-V Might be selling my BW - any interest on here?

This is weird, I was just thinking about your car (and 668LT4's) yesterday. I was literally going to message you guys that if you ever considered selling, let me know. The options and color are peak 5BW awesomeness. '25 refresh is not a positive update to me. Count me as seriously interested.

What were your must have options?

Must have: 6M, no sunroof, optional wheels, black raven. Regrets: CCB for the lack of dust, unsprung weight savings, and they elevate the overall radness. Paying MSRP for the car hurt my feels, so adding another $9k to tab was a no-go at the time, but I should have checked that box.

    Engine Failure

TMOG is a big fan of changing the factory oil before 1,000 miles. He mentions it again in the video above. Interesting comments about viscosity.

Narrowed down to 3 colors - help me out, pictures encouraged!

I went black raven, SCG interior with red belts, graphite wheels, and red calipers. Its a classic Cadillac V look, and I love it.

Narrowed down to 3 colors - help me out, pictures encouraged!

Color is way too subjective but the DSM spec is perfect. No roof is mandatory and the CCB are actually a better choice for a street car due to the dust of the iron brakes, particularly on the standard wheels. Of the two CF packages, 1 is definitely the most desirable (to me). You don't say...

Highly Recommend Bleeding the LT4 Intercooler

I have the Dedicated MS adaptor and a one liter bottle cut in half. It seems extra shade tree feeling, but its works. The benefit of eliminating air in the system is to make sure the heat exchanger is providing maximum cooling affect. Not a big deal for a daily, but for track days you'll...
