    2026 allocation

......And another thing, GM is a little confusing itself. They release allocations kind of willy nilly too. When I was dealing with my dealer, they didn't really know if or when they would get an allocation. I'm going back to 2022-2023, so things might be a little different now. When I ordered...

    Am I crazy?

IDK, I very much trust the car. I think that trust has saved my ass a few times. Take a curve a little to fast, or accelerate out a bit too early, not realize how sharp the curve is, and I've felt those nannies kick in. Granted, smooth asphalt, but I trust it. You'll just have to get used to...

CT5-V PCV/EVAP uncapped? Doesn't look critical, but does this remain uncapped or should I cap it?

That's where my dealer said they fill up my turbo blinker fluid. Man, that crap is expensive!

    Am I crazy?

Ahhhh, one of the beauties of living out here in Southern AZ with looong, mostly flat, straight back roads where you can drive without much concern about the law....or so I hear

    5th gen V?

I agree 100%. I was in California last month for a week doing part of PCH. Stayed in many hotels, I should have paid more attention, but I don't recall ANY chargers at any of those hotels. It really made me stop and think, how do we go full EV? As you said, what about all the MDU's. Who's going...

    5th gen V?

IIRC, once the XT's are killed off, the only ICE left will be the CT's and the Escalade. They will keep the ICE Escalade as their sales are very strong, and it's no big deal to produce it next to the Tahoe/Yukon. So, what's the future for the CT? I read they are working on an EV version, so I...

    5BW for 4BW

Radiant Red or it's almost twin, Infrared

Blown Engine(add me to the list)

Powertrain is 6 yr/70K miles, but at least with an extended warranty, it "should" cover almost everything, but especially electronics. I think that's really the bigger issue long term with new cars.

Dealers That Are Not Charging Above MSRP

    Congrats @SdBeerManDave ..........pix?

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

@swoop1156 ....great write and excellent thoughts. I think you were lucky to enjoy that BMW for 24 hours. Many journalists talk about how good BMW is, but the cars are boring. My favorite part: So true....all of it, especially about parking lots. I've said for years, your driving test should...

    5BW for 4BW

With a due respect and a little sarcasm, really? The chief complaints are gas tank size and turning radius? Are we men or are we mice? It's probably one of the best cars to come out of Detroit. That's the complaint? That actually says something. No one complaining about expensive maintenance or...

    Tall Steve's Blackwings

Where have you been @Tall Steve ? When are you selling that BW to me for pennies on the dollar.....I have cash!

    Blackwing Constraints Tracker

@DBordello ..I don't think they are taking orders for 2025's anymore

How the heck do I replace the battery!

@DonD ...No, it's an option to buy the battery charger from GM, at an attractive mark up.

CT5-V Manual 25 Blackwing no blindspot monitoring. Why

I think that is a big part of it. The mirrors a so small. I can bob and weave in my truck with more confidence than the BW, partially because of the big mirrors. A lot has to do with how other people drive too.

CT5-V Might be selling my BW - any interest on here?

@jbawden and @5VBW Nick ......congrats to both!! I'm a bit jealous of that BDT and the tan interior. Fantastic color combo.

Dealers That Are Not Charging Above MSRP

Just saw an article saying the 2026 CT5 (NON BW) production to start earlier than expected. Now they're saying first week of June with dealers allowed to order June 1. Remember, this is GM being GM.....things can change.

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

I agree. I think going EV, you have to lease. Between the horrible and huge depreciation and the (possible) replacement battery, drive it, beat it, turn it back in. As far as leasing, unless you keep your car forever or drive a ton of miles, leasing may be a wash. Example: Let's just say you...

CT5-V Might be selling my BW - any interest on here?

All I can say is wow! Just WOW! It's a gorgeous BW. If you sell, I wish you well in your new endeavor.

What were your must have options?

I think they look cool and I'm not sure, but not many other car companies, if any, (not seat makers) have them. Again, something different than everybody else. Oh, and they improve your laps times. In 2022, top level seats only came with carbon backs. IIRC, 2023 (or 2024) you could order top...
