If you run it in Tour, it sounds like the stock track mode without the burbles as its idles down.
I didn’t know there was a “stealth” mode when editing the settings in “my mode”. Which sounds more like the stock tour. I’ll usually run this setting when I have my kiddo in the car.
I’ll grab...
Nothing too bad.
Inside sounds more like louder exhaust than drone thankfully. Cruising the highway sounds pretty close to stock until you lay into it.
Something I’ve been thinking about doing for awhile now. Finally pulled the trigger. Figured worst comes to worst if the outcome wasn’t the expected sound, we could re weld in the stock box.
Left the stock tips and valves for obvious reasons.
Both videos are with the valves fully open.
Volume ⬆️!
Love the stock shift knob on my BW but curious if anyone has tried to remove / replace the shift knob on a CT4 BW M6?
Used to be able to twist counter clockwise and unthread but for some reason I get the feeling there’s a little more to it with these.
Thoughts?
The 30 ish minutes was just for the tuner install. Plugs for me were roughly an hour or so. No guide but have a decent amount of experience working on small block motors (SBC/SBF) so I felt confident taking a stab at this.
Before starting, I took a ton of pictures with the engine cover off in...
Even though a lot of these plug manufacturers say they come “pre gapped”, I’d still take the extra 5 mins to confirm with a gapping tool if you aren’t planning on doing so already.👊🏻
Yep. Very similar. As for the JB4 tuner cabling, it doesn’t come labeled but the connectors for the back of intake mani are the ends that stretch the furthest away from the tuner housing. The other connection goes into the driver side MAF sensor located on top of the air filter housing.
Talked...
I’d still suggest installing a colder plug with a tighter gap. Even if you only run the 10% base Map 1. Not too much extra added work for a lot of added security to not foul out the OEM’s.
Meh, nothing really too noticeable. I’m sure you could hear the induction a little more than stock but nothing overly noticeable with just those installed.
But you can definitely tell they’re much better quality when you compare to the OEM filters.
I’ll grab some photos this weekend and submit for everyone to view! For now, the OB2 port cable is just ran through the door jam, considering it was 9PM when I was finishing this up. This weekend I’ll have more time to run through the firewall.
My original order was everything in the blue belt...
Copy and pasting the info from Scott’s email after purchasing the tuner + other parts.
Map 0 with 20% fuel bias is listed as ‘factory tuning’, but that’s not correct. It will increase power to ~ 440 whp on these cars.
Map 1 with 10% fuel bias for 91 octane fuel produces ~ 460 whp White Belt to...
I just finished installing my tuner this evening. Approximate time start to finish was 30-35 mins. Hardest part for me was getting my hand between the firewall and the back of the intake manifold when removing and reconnecting the TMAP / MAP sensors. Once you’ve got those swapped as the...
Agreed. Thankfully there’s still over an inch of sidewall on the concave section before it runs into the spoke of the rim + the OD of the shank lug matching within a 1/32 of the stud hole ID. We had this on a jig / press to accurate drill these to insure everything was level. This was definitely...
What’s the difficulty removing the stock wheel studs and replacing with your longer 2.5” studs? I’ve done this in the past on other vehicles and it was just taking a mini sledge to hammer them loose. I’d feel much better about having the longer studs installed in lieu of the shank lugs I’m...
