You are 100% correct. I have the exact same item, except it has a Porsche logo on it and it cost 50% more than the Cadillac one.
You might notice it's strange that it doesn't fit the whole width of the trunk. That's because it precisely fits in the frunk of a modern 911.
They probably all come...
Back on the subject of 'Media' mentions of the Blackwing ...
The latest 'Smoking Tire' podcast has a review of the MC20 GT2 Stradale mid-engined supercar, and they went off on a tangent about how that car's review drive was ruined for them because they drove a CT5-V Blackwing to it -- which was...
Ressence Type 3 is one of the few watches that could conceivably require an oil change... it even has an oil temp gauge. Mega watch.
Mine's the entry-level Type 1s, no oil changes required :ROFLMAO:
Yup, it's not a cheap hobby. Well, maybe cheap compared to getting really into DE's and racing ... if you start digging into the details about movements, finishing, etc. it's all over
If I'm parking in a 20minute green zone, I'll use my chronograph or dive bezel to time it because it's less of a hassle than futzing through all the screens in my phone. I have yet to find a realistic use for the Tachymeter scale as there are much better solutions for on-track data and timing...
Panerai's reputation has been up and down lately, with a "scandal" (overblown) about Panerai's P.9200 movement being labeled as "In House" in the early 2020s and the Luminor Due betraying the brand heritage by being a little 38mm watch with minimal WR.
In my opinion, Panerai still has one of...
100% - it's odd that GM didn't work with a tiremaker for OEM fit A/S or Winters. Presumably because the famous GM bean counters decided the cost/benefit didn't pan out. I am not a tiremaker so I don't know if it would be a really expensive undertaking?
I live in California so in theory this...
I can feel the OP's frustration a bit - the idea behind a Super Sedan is that it can be the 'one car that does it all'; daily driver, back road barnstormer and track day toy. Certainly, that's the M5's MO.
If you have to get a winter beater or daily driver to go with your Blackwing, why not...
For years now we've been told excitedly that cars are becoming just like computers and smartphones ... and here we are! DRM locked out of our own cars.
100%
BMW fans have been lamenting for ages about how they abandoned controls that curve in to face the driver since the e90
Cadillac just need to pinch 'ultimate driving machine' tagline now because it's clear who's really focused on that these days :)
Ah - this thread is back! Last time, 3 of us met up at Pre-Stage (Pre-Stage) in Marin and did a drive through the North Bay's backroads. Next one is on November 16. Message me if you are thinking of going!
I don't mean to be taking this thread in a whole new direction, but we should be comparing 11 failures reported here with the active number of 5BW owners on this board, not the total number of LT4 produced.
I fully admit it probably "looks" worse than it is when reading through these forums -...
It's really hard relying on forums to get a true picture of things, only GM knows the true failure rate, but 11 people here have self-reported some kind of catastrophic engine failure with an unresolved root cause (i.e. the dealer looked at it and it's not a money-shift).
I started a log here...
IMO unless you really like the new front-end and the digital dash it's a pretty expensive way to get an extended warranty and a paint job :)
I think otherwise the car is going to be identical...?
Extended warranty I'm curious about though. You mentioned you would never do it... With the higher...
Yep, plenty of discussions about this on the other blown motor threads. It's almost certainly a design or part manufacturing defect and not likely to be all down to some rogue incompetent engine builder. You can bet that's the first thing GM would have checked in common with all the blown...
If I hear of something outside of the forum I'll add it, but so far C&D's is the only other one I've heard of.
I wouldn't take this as anything close to comprehensive, but part of the reason for creating this thread was that I saw lots of 'blown motor' threads with tons of posts, so I'd assumed...
I started a list of the reported blown motors on this forum. It's far from scientific because not all people who have had this issue are on the forum, and not all on the forum who have had an issue will post about it, but I'm hopeful it will shed some light on the failure modes if nothing else...
