    Blackwing down!

Glad you're okay! I haven't had an oversteer event with the car yet. Was stability control off for the track?

CT4BW's Turning Off - Safety Risk

    My car is stock.

CT4BW's Turning Off - Safety Risk

Thanks for the update. I've got my appointment scheduled in July. Let me see if I have any luck with them. Depending on how I am treated I may echo your sentiments. I too love this car but this is an alarming safety issue. So far it hasn't happened again though, and I went on a road trip and...

CT4BW's Turning Off - Safety Risk

Yup that was me. It has really drastically lowered my confidence in the car... though that was the only issue I've had with the car other than the alarm going off a few times in the middle of the night. Mine was the same way. I was driving for a good while (maybe like 20 ish minutes) just...

Why choose a CT4 BW over a new BMW M3? Sincerely asking.

I, too, test drove an M3 before buying the 4BW. As a driver's car the 4BW is more engaging. The M3 felt very numb and boring (even the 6MT). On paper it's better, but when you get in and drive you feel the difference. BTW I have never owned a Cadillac/GM product nor a BMW before buying the 4BW.

Has Anyone Had Their 5BW Wrapped?

I got my 4bw wrapped in Oracal Luscious Lips red. My installer did everything well except the door handles. My guess is those are difficult to wrap so hence why the above Instagram just painted the handles black. In hindsight, that's a much better idea!

    BW5 rough idle

How much variation in the RPMs? My 4BW is idling rough with around 50-100 variation, but what I see from random threads is that this is "normal" for the LF4 engine. I'm not convinced that this is "normal" but from what I can tell it's harmless so far.

considering CT4-BW as a daily? a few questions

I live in NJ as well and was driving it daily until it got too cold. The 4BW is a very comfortable commuter car for sure. I've only had it for the summer but from my experience with my other RWD cars (which all have winter tires) you generally don't want to drive it in the snow. Just get the...

CT4-V What Don't You Like About Your CT4-V Blackwing

Yes this was it. I thought I was throttling but I guess not! Now I don't mind the brake button anymore.

    Test drive?

I was able to drive it. The dealership didn't let me on my first visit but afterwards they said "if what's standing between you and the purchase is a test drive then we would certainly let you try it." Knowing full well I was able to walk away after the test drive they let me do a drive while...

How 'under the radar' is your Blackwing?

Haven't gotten a single comment about the car from strangers. I don't think it stands out enough and I'm fine with that. Even regular CT4 Owners don't give it a second glance. The most I've gotten is some waves from pickup trucks on the road.

    Brake Dust Cleaning Magic

Don't forget to mention the smell. I used it once and it was horrid. I think this product is more designed to decontaminate painted surfaces rather than get rid of brake dust. I like to use Adam's Eco cleaner which smells much more pleasant and is (according to them) friendler to the...

CT4-V What Don't You Like About Your CT4-V Blackwing

How do you get the parking brake to consistently release? I did notice that when I first drove the car but more often than not it doesn't let me go (forward or reverse) whether or not I use the throttle. I stalled it yesterday just testing it out. So hence I always just push the button. Also...

CT4-V What Don't You Like About Your CT4-V Blackwing

I can echo what a few people have said on here. The serious stuff: Slight notch in second gear. I can feel it occasionally where it will either pop the shift stalk back into neutral or prevent me going into 2nd. Firmer shifts can fix this but I would rather it looked at. Also, the alarm...

    CT4-V Dash Cam Hardwire

Does anyone know the best fuse/wire to tap into to wire a dash cam? I don't have PDR and feel like I'm exposed without one.

    Cat Converter Anti-Theft

I can understand a lower car having the better defense for lazy cat thieves. Also I haven't seen the underside of the car so I don't know if the cat is even exposed. I don't think I would ever get an anti-theft device ever installed just wanted to know what is the most cost effective option...

    Sto n sho

I emailed them about the CT4V for a BW and they said they would look into it. Theoretically it would fit but I don't think you would know until you tried it. I guess I would wait until they list the compatibility on their website.

    Cat Converter Anti-Theft

Does anyone have experience or thoughts of Catalytic converter shields for the 4BW? I'm not too worried when parking at home but when traveling I get so paranoid. Something like this seems good enough but then again I'm not an expert. Just looking for something simple that can be enough to deter...

PSA: Setting Expectations - Condition of your paint may disappoint you, but a paint correction/ceramic coat and a good detailer will fix your problem.

No complaints about the paint so far. My previous car was a Lexus and the paint job on that car was spot on. I don't see any blemishes while cleaning the CT4V (mine is Shadow Metallic). What I do have issue with is the color palette that Cadillac offers. I saw all the colors on their swatch...

    Detailing thread

Did a full strip wash x 2 with Adam's strip wash, then surface prep spray down, followed by Adam's Graphene Ceramic Spray. It will be my daily so I coated 2x the horizontal surfaces, then added ceramic boost. It'll probably last a few months before I will have to coat it again, but I think by...
