There was no push for me. No government motivation and pressure.
This was a free car.
It just happens to be a nice one. If this cost me even $100 more a month than I was paying, it wouldn't be in my driveway.
I have made it about two years now with my BlackWing as my work commuter. I have subjected it to two winters.
It's been very comfortable and capable.
But man, I drive this thing like a grandma in at 6am, barely ever over 2k RPMs. I still struggle for 22mpgs. Can I afford it, yep.
But I...
I have Grundy MVP.
They'd allow a collectors policy on the BlackWing if I add another daily to the mix. I have two collectors and the wife's DD already.
It doesn't have to be a matter of lying. Someone was put on the spot in an interview. They gave the answer they gave.
Mirza is on this forum and has answered in depth this same question. I give credence to Mirza. He's also not the only person I've interacted with first hand who has said the...
1) not just weight of V6 vs V8. You always want the engine set as far back as possible, V8 would altar the handling of the 4 as you have more engine past the "axle". Having driven both cars at Spring Mountain, I'd never want to lose the sharpness of the front response by even a few percent...
I'm going to clarify this again.
The under hood of the 5 is the same as the Camaro and both accommodate the V8. The underhood space of the 4 is smaller. No V8.
Could you make a business case to modify the 4 in such a way to make a V8 fit? You know that would drive the price as high or...
Or, maybe the mistake of releasing both to media where the 4 was always compared to the 5, won't be done again. Maybe give them some media breathing room this time?
Think of an open diff as 1wd and LSD as 2WD lol.
Until you up your confidence, leave stability control enabled. You can adjust the PTM settings and driving modes to give you more and more freedom in slip angle etc as you gain confidence in how the car reacts.
Oh yeah, another example of modern BMW dealer experience. I had about a 1yr F30 3 series that had the battery go bad. Dealer wanted $715 installed and wouldn't warranty it as they said the car sat too much without being driven due to the low mileage. Umm what?
Thanks,
My wife and I don't have kids. We are responsible to each other to live as long and healthy for each other as possible. It's why we take our health screenings so seriously and don't put them off. I say to her that she is my favorite noun that's ever existed. I have 0 interest going...
I had cancer in my teens and again in my mid 20's. I used a bit of guilt on my wife to justify the BlackWing, a third car for myself. Who knows my life expectancy, I told her I don't know if I'll live to be old and gray with her, so let's have fun now if we can afford to. So I get the sentiment.
Dealer wanted $280 to change my oil when I was a kid and they realized my ZM3 was in fact an M car lol. I did them myself instead. I've been paying $69 for oil changes at the dealer for my BlackWing. I'm much more comfortable with my BlackWing crossing 100k than I am a modern BMW.
