    Patch this tire or replace?

I've used the rubber strip with rubber glue type thing many times in the past with no issues but I upgraded to the mushroom plug a few years ago. It's the only way I know of that allows you to keep the tire mounted and seal the hole from the inside.

Does A Radar Detector Help Anymore?

Mark 1 + Waze work well for me.

Considering buying a buyback 5BW - blown motor issues resolved?

So true on the e9xs. I still have an e90 M3 but scared to drive it after all the engine work is required! It just sits on the battery tender while I enjoy the 5BW and hopefully see the e90 resale value creep up.

Upcoming 11 hr drive in 5BW through cold and some rain. Thoughts?

Once you're moving, no problem..stopping and turning at slow speeds in the 20s can be dicey and last I read, you will get microfractures in the rubber. Not sure what that would mean for durability or track use...YMMV.

About to Order, Engine Failure Questions

I'm not a fan of the XTs (nothing wrong with them and absolutely not a single thing exciting about them) but with them all going away, I fear Cadillac is being a bit too obstinate with an all-EV strategy. They need to read the room better because mainstream America and the ruling pols are giving...

How much of that noise is fake?

For $15, not bad. Would love to know what difference they make in a BW.

When Do You Change Your Oil?

About every 3500 - 5000 miles. I do some at the dealership and the in-betweens at home.

    Rear view mirror adjustment

If my experience is typical, your eyes will adjust IF you commit 100% to the camera mirror. Between my 5BW and prior V3, I've got over 100k miles with the camera mirror and vastly prefer it to a regular glass mirror.

CT5-V Anyone else had the Infotainment not boot up on engine start?

Not unusual after an OTA software update in my experience. The other variant is where only the HUD is missing but shows up either by moving the display higher or restarting the car.

Feature & Option Differences Between CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing

Another difference - carbon fiber seats are an option on the 5, only available on special editions of the 4. The 4 has an option for CF canards that don't exist on the 5.

    Blackwing Seat Piping Material

    Interesting, thx!

    Blackwing Seat Piping Material

Have you done this before? What type of protection do you have to put on top of the paint to preserve it and what type of special paint do you need that's pliable enough to not flake off when the piping bends?? Just curious as have never thought of doing something like this on my own (did...

How the heck do I replace the battery!

I would install a battery tender under the hood using the remote terminal.

Dealer finally fixed driver window noise. 11.5 hours of labor. 6 weeks in the shop. 120 road test miles.

Isn't it great when you find a dealer who cares?!? In my experience, that's the challenge with domestic brands - very hit or miss. When you're dealing with foreign luxury brands (like BMW with their higher margins) you get much better consistency.

    Blackwing GM customer support number?

You're probably aware, but just in case, GM is eventually going to want you to go through a dealer for support of the issue. If you're not getting the support you need from your current dealer, it may be quicker to start with another dealer than trying to get a tier 1 customer support agent to...

    Attempted Theft in Austin

I'll wade into this one... As a non-Texan who has spent a LOT of time there, I'll take Austin and San Antonio over flat and plain DFW but I'd take DFW over the muggy crime-infested swamp called Houston (but vastly prefer their home prices!) Dawning my asbestos underwear now!

Conti Extreme Contact dws06 plus vs. Michelin Pilot Sport all season 4 ?

Great point. I should have clarified, we get ice but very little snow in suburban Seattle (and when we do, I'll drive a SUV, rarely the M3 or the 5BW.)

Conti Extreme Contact dws06 plus vs. Michelin Pilot Sport all season 4 ?

I have a set of PS AS3 tires on an older M3 and they're just fine in the winter. But I don't exactly push that wallet bomb of a S65 motor anytime at all these days...

Conti Extreme Contact dws06 plus vs. Michelin Pilot Sport all season 4 ?

AS means All Season whereas the stock PS 4S is a bepoke (specific to the Blackwing forumlation) summer (3 season) tire.
