Awesome to hear that at least one of my January build buddies got a car delivered! I was starting to think they were collectively kept by GM for "strategic" reasons lol!
I assumed that was the case but part of me also was going... well, it really wouldn't surprise any more. My car has been built since January, moved to the shipping lot, and sitting ever since. Why not?
I couldn't imagine built January of last year lol. I do imagine I'll be doing a decontamination process on any exposed paint from it sitting so long. Ugh.
Curious if the plant shutting down means they aren't going to be shipping anything for a while either? Not like a bunch of us have been waiting since January or anything...
Same boat, built in January, still sitting in the transport lot. I assume if it's in the transport lot it isn't part shortages but who knows at this point. Maybe the needs parts lot is entirely full at this point. Who knows!
It really wouldn't be so bad if they'd just tell us what's going on. Ran out of this specific chip for my car? Cool, I can wait. No truckers available? That's cool too. It's never knowing what's going on that kills me and probably everyone else. Good luck everyone!
That seems quite likely. I'm sure there's some executive sitting there looking at all this going, "No, don't ship the finished cars! Keep them in the lots! We can't have people thinking we actually build cars!"
Need a bigger garage before I can start amassing cars again lol. The motorcycles fit but the local nuts convinced me I didn't want to ride after leaving Portland (they were much nicer there). Had a couple lifted trucks try to off myself and some other riders. They think it's funny here to run...
End of January production for me as well. No delivery. Was thinking I might go down the M3 route but the lack of wiring harnesses has put that on hold as well. BMW can't build cars and GM can't deliver them. I know plenty of people on the forums have it worse than me but I've been riding this...
4D00 for me now. Cadillac chat says that's inaccurate and it's ready for pickup and shipment. I'll see what my salesman has to say tomorrow. Only the goats know!
It seems like if you get a good one, and more are now, they're just as reliable as their German counterparts. I think I got a lemon from them that never bad enough to qualify as a lemon. At least with the crazy market I got out a couple thousand ahead on that one. Low mileage CPO I should have...
Good luck! I hope they've figured out how to build them better than my F-Type. Thing was a nightmare with 20k of warranty work by the 30k mile mark. Love the cars and the SVR is really special! I still miss the F-Type even if I wanted to burn it to the ground by the end of my ownership.
