288 Miles and an engine failure

I should potentially take it home today. Been just an absolute goat show with parts ordering and such but I'm really just hoping we're done after this. I'm waiting for an official declaration from GM on why my motor failed, whether it be a burr in the crankshaft channel or bearing clearances, or...

Engine Problem - Could use some advice

https://www.cadillacvnet.com/forums/threads/288-miles-and-an-engine-failure.3178/ I had a similar hesitation on my motor but I was even just at the lower RPMs cruising. Turned out to be the motor spinning a rod bearing. Hopefully my new one wont have that issue

288 Miles and an engine failure

If you read more into it it turned out to be a faulty crankshaft not feeding oil to bearings properly just killing the whole motor. New one SHOULD hopefully be in Friday.

288 Miles and an engine failure

I I understand where you’re coming from with this. I work at a dealership. I’ve seen it happen. That being said I think I have a few more connections at the dealership than the average customer. The technicians you say have no loyalty are the same people who assemble these cars off in...

288 Miles and an engine failure

What happened to your paint? Goats are partially colorblind so did they hit it with the wrong color?

288 Miles and an engine failure

Update: I think I'm legitimately cursed or my car is. The technician had the cherry picker for my engine fall over onto him as he was pulling it from storage. So instead of getting my car back tomorrow or Thursday it'll most likely be Friday or Monday/Tuesday next week. The goats have...

288 Miles and an engine failure

I think it’s more about the principle of paying 100k for a car (or more after markups) and waiting a year to get it or another year to even get an allocation and then at 288 miles, or 3500 miles or even 9 miles like @savethemanual needing significant repairs and being out of your car for a month...

288 Miles and an engine failure

To be honest I don’t care about them making payments or anything for me. I want my warranty pushed out to 100k miles bumper to bumper. Planning on keeping this car for a long time and this doesn’t inspire confidence.

288 Miles and an engine failure

How did you go about getting a hold of someone who could help you out? I’ve been trying to talk to customer support for a while and they keep saying that it’s the dealership’s responsibility to take care of me

288 Miles and an engine failure

Yeah they’re pretty much required to as some sort of Cadillac concierge system. Just make a big stink about it and call customer support. Spending 60-100k on these specialty cars and waiting for ages to ride the goat rodeo and get them and then getting the shaft from the dealership after the...

288 Miles and an engine failure

How long has your car been in the shop for. That’s the first thing I did was demand a loaner car.

288 Miles and an engine failure

I’m in talk with GM regarding the fact that I’ve now made 2 payments and paid for shipping on a car I put all of 288 miles on. I’ve put more miles on their Buick encore loaner than my own car. No promises yet but I’m pushing for warranty up to 100k miles or them to cover a payment or two

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Easiest way to tell if anything is loose. Just smack it with a hammer

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Let’s get this thread back on track. I went and saw it sitting on a lift waiting for the new motor to get in it 😩

288 Miles and an engine failure

Yeah they have however you can’t order the long block for the Blackwing. According to GM it is a different variation from an LT4

288 Miles and an engine failure

I'd love to know the cost of the new crate motor and such. I'll try to get a breakdown from the service advisor when it's done

288 Miles and an engine failure

I’m in the auto industry and I’m on a decent first name basis with everyone putting my car back together. I think I’ll be fine.

288 Miles and an engine failure

Luckily they pulled my motor from the top and GM has been involved with every step. Every time they take off a panel they took a photo and sent it to GM. As far as I’m aware this is the first failure like this. Car and driver blew theirs up just absolutely beating the piss out of it. This was...
