Anderson Composites Type-SV Double Sided Carbon Fiber Hood for 2024 CT5-V BW

Haven’t installed one on my BW but have in previous vehicles. Required no, highly recommended yes. Especially at high speed and since it looks like you track. Relying solely on the latch adhered to the CF/resin with high air pressure load is a gamble. There are some really nice low profile...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

It was a clear, windy, and brisk 70 this morning... I was a bit cautious taking the BW out into the elements but we managed.

    Corsa Xtreme Exhaust issue

I don't know if that scanner is bidirectional, if not, return it and buy one which is, like the one I linked above. Then relearn those valves and call it a day.

    Corsa Xtreme Exhaust issue

Assuming the valve spring which connects the valve to the actuator was installed in the correct orientation (Corsa provides a picture of the orientation in their install doc) then the only thing left to do is execute the relearn process. The relearn process will trigger the valve actuator to...

    Corsa Xtreme Exhaust issue

Many of the C8 owners use this bidirectional scanner for their exhaust relearns, pretty sure it’ll work just fine for the BW (this model is for GM vehicles). Only $129 after discount code. The dealer will prob charge $100 to press a button for ya..this way at least you have a great tool for...

    Corsa Xtreme Exhaust issue

I have a 6MT, my "Drive Mode" button is bottom right of my stick shift knob. The switch at the 4 o'clock on the steering wheel is the PTM switch for changing up the traction management. I think the DMC button for drive mode on autos is forward of the gear selector, but that's based on memory and...

    Corsa Xtreme Exhaust issue

Yes.. or grab a cheap code reader from Amazon or Harbor Freight, it'll pay dividend for ya.

    Corsa Xtreme Exhaust issue

Theres only two electrical components that needs to be disconnected and connected during the install and that’s the valve actuators. All of the O2 sensors are before and after the cats but aren’t touched during the cat-back install unless you did headers as well. Need a code scanner my dude...

    Corsa Xtreme Exhaust issue

Are you throwing CEL/codes? The above “issues” aren’t informative enough to even begin a diag. If you have access to a OBD scanner, or borrow one at Autozone, to obtain the specifics codes, would be a good first step. As mentioned, some folks may need to perform a relearn on the valves...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Depends if you got OEM or the Anderson, I got the Anderson. In either case, you have to remove the entire rocker from the car. It’s a pain. With the OEM it looks to come with an entire new rocker, with the Anderson you get just the lower CF portion of the rocker. You have the remove the plastic...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Since BW was already jacked up to do the CF rockers.. went ahead and did the rear diff fluid. Only 11k miles and boy the fluid is dark and smells amazing.

    Precision pack and ceramic brakes

Convenient “mistake” to separate more money from the buyer.. whoopsie. $158K… GTFO. I love my 5BW but it ain’t $160K love.

    CT5-V Sideskirt/Rocker removal?

Progress being made…one side skirt off. Three panels, two rubber diverters, 52,000 screws later, the front spoiler is installed. btw: It took forever to find the rocker clips on the GM parts page, mainly because they are labeled as a multi-purpose retainer, nothing about rockers, fenders, etc...

    CT5-V Sideskirt/Rocker removal?

Thanks… I’ve got one side off, taking a bunch of pics for a write up. It’s a royal pain in the ass. Update: well, wasn’t able to get the entire rocker off. The clips up by the door sills are really tight and I can feel the plastic about the break. Ordered some longer trim tools… if this doesn’t...

    CT5-V Sideskirt/Rocker removal?

Bah... should have looked better. I don't need to remove the entire rocker, just the lower rocker which appears to be held on by a bunch of T15's Wrong again, the whole thing needs to come off.. as mentioned above
