The programming on the magride suspension is different between the 2. I also imagine the brake programming & warning system thresholds are complete different as well with the brake by wire. Probably not the best idea to swap. Here’s a read on the warning system. There’s no link with the pedal so...
If you’re hearing tire noise (and you’re sure there’s nothing wrong with your tires) it’s likely the rear (they’re very wide at 305s) not the fronts. The fronts have acoustical foam to reduce noise at least the correct OEM tpc spec do. Here’s a pic
There’s currently a Michelin rebate larger than the spring mountain one direct with Michelin as part of a Memorial Day sale. Both are not a coupon but a rebate you get a prepaid card back.
Best of luck finding at least the original tpc spec 5 tires in stock right now anywhere
A good read on how the GM brake by wire system works Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter on the C8 Corvette's Brake Fade Warning System - Corvette: Sales, News & Lifestyle
we'll need to meet up at June's event (assuming my BW doesn't shit the bed again at Ozark this weekend of BMW club at heartland next week). I have a black 5 as does my dad and I'm there for most events. I missed NASA b/c the belt blew up and the car significantly overheated and was at the dealer...
interesting. a ran into a guy at the track that had a 1LE SS that said he had been trying to order the brake ducts from the BW to put on his car, but that GM wouldn't let him order that part number separately. you go out to heartland park ever?
if you think your service at cable dahmer was bad, don't try one of the audi dealers in town. i specifically told them to let me know when they get the allocation for my rs6 order as i was a bit torn between 2 colors and wanted to know when my window for changes would open and close. fast...
They don’t make them brembo does & given the same material is used for the Camaro they should be available for a very long time. Even if not the brakes will still work it’s just that they’re specifically calibrated for the pad material on them. All pedal feel is simulated as it’s brake by wire...
Run track alignment and Castrol SRF fluid. You’ll only have to change fluid once a year with it. It’s expensive fluid, but only having to change that often saves a ton. You can also get lifetime replacement if you buy at fcpeuro. There’s already a post where someone put together a track prep...
the driver mod is a big one. I've ran 1:49 at my local track and the other guys that I know that have z51 C8s struggle to go much faster than 1:55 when their cars are clearly capable of a lot more. the only c8s with better drivers i've seen lap times for were modified with at least track only...
def gonna depend on the track. the VIR times are pretty close b/c of the high speed areas, but a shorter technical track with few or no straightaways is gonna go to the c8. there's also several different setups at spring mountain. one of the instructors in my session said the c8 was a lot faster...
