The article points out the low quality of sate radio and ipod type streaming audio and that only CD can provide the true audiofile with the sound quality they want. My problem is that a vehicle isn't the best place to listen to music anyway due to all the other noises that interfer with true appreciation of the quality of the music.

I rarely put a CD in anyway and my wife likes hooking up her ipod to the Vagon sometimes. So, we would not misse the CD and if I really want the highest fidelity play back of a sound track, I'll do that at home.

Many cars come with DVD players which also function as CD players and these may stay around. We'll see.
