well in spite of being careful i lasted 2 months before wrecking the front splitter going in to a driveway (that i go into all the time) i think i just got in a new pothole and a bit low.

i can't even look at it long enough to take a picture to post

i shudder at how much it will be to replace it (5BW)

about three grand canadian if you buy from a dealer online. it is part number 42795061. MSRP is $4,662.26 canadian.

Sorry you had your front spoiler trashed by a pothole. This is the exact scenario I had in my head when I decided not to get CF1 but instead just to add the CF rear spoiler separately after delivery. My assumption was that someday I would eventually have something hit the front spoiler and break it and that the non-CF would be a much cheaper fix if that happened.

Just like a good picture, it's all about the angles. My 30+ years of driving experience in Chicago has taught me to always pay attention. My '23 IMSA is still mint on the bottom of the front lip after 40k miles.

I may be an outlier, but the front splitter clears everything I have come across. The only things that concern me are parking blocks, curbs, and roads with very extreme angle changes. I have yet to come close to scratching mine.

Sorry for your damage. Can you go through your insurance?

I owned a 2022 without the carbon front, and my 2024 has full carbon. I would never go back. It is one of the few visible details that separates Blackwings from other CT5s... including non-carbon Blackwings.

Exactly why I didn't go for the carbon fiber package. I did do carbon fiber "wrap" on certain parts. Looks like the real deal and I don't care if it gets scratched up.

For these complaining about the splitter, Atsv/Ctsv splitter dragged on everything as it had two low protrusuions. It would drag on slopes that I thought would surely clear. This one is much better. I think they learned a lesson.

Man I feel your pain, just spent the better part of the weekend attempting a repair of my CF splitter. Completely my fault, pulling into the local grocery store parking spot while talking with my passenger. I eased into the spot and heard a crunch, I hit an old concrete parking barrier, there was only a small chunk of the barrier left and with vegetation around it, it was hidden well. But I found it!

I ended up buying some CF on amazon (only used a small amount to reinforce the backside of splinter) and I already had some 2 part resin from a previous project. In all, it turned out good, it would past the 2ft test. I'm fine with it for now, but it stung for the first few days.

I now back into all parking spots :giggle:

that is a very good repair job. mine appears to be cracked although it just might be the ppf and not the splitter itself. i still can't really look at it i'm so mad at myself. but might try a repair job

thanks for the part #, the 2025 and 2026s seem to be different then earlier years. i've found a few sites including 'gmpartsoem.ca' that will ship it to me for around $3200. anyone ever dealt with them - seems like a legit site?

Thank you! I figured I’d give it shot, if it looked awful, I’d file an insurance claim.
A couple years ago I ingested a large rock under my car driving on a partially snowed mountain road. Caused multiple damage areas. The rock was stationary, had it been moving when I hit it I would have filed an insurance claim. It’s the difference between collision and comprehensive. Hitting a stationary object is an at fault collision. The worst type of insurance claim. Save it for when it’s really needed.
