Great point. I sometimes forget that aspect. I already come pretty close to scraping my raceramps, I bet it would with the Eibach springs.
Thanks for the feedback, that’s great to know! I should invest in a lip protector just to play it safe.
So I received the new springs for my 5BW a couple weeks ago. However, I’m hesitant on the install. I always do my own work, so I’m not concerned about the actual job, I’m more concerned with the aftermath.
I know the Eibachs seem to be just the right height, but I’m worried the ride quality...
Which brand did you go with and are they hubcentric? Assuming it was a kit with new extended lugs/nuts?
I'm super spoiled coming from the world of BMWs, where you just get extended lug bolts for any spacer you want, and they're always hubcentric. Wondering how difficult a job it is to knock out...
Thanks!
Really not much risk at all using a good orbital. I don’t go too crazy to get EVERY fine scratch out.. just an orange pad with light compound, then follow up with a black pad and finishing polish. All Griots stuff. Really is a joy doing it, especially on a black car. Most rewarding...
Correct, lower offset by 6mm.
The one car that got me into the black on black theme, was a new C7 Z06 years ago shortly after release. Menacing yet tasteful.
Picked up my Apex VS5RS wheels last year during their Black Friday sale. Extremely light wheels, and great design. They seem to have a very OEM like design, which I love. Rears are a tad more aggressive than the originals. Fronts are the same width and offset. I swapped over the factory 4S tires...
I had a manual E90 M3 a while back. Incredible car. Slow, but full of character.
Picked up a G80 Comp when they were released. Had that for a couple years and 20k miles. Traded it on my current 5BW last year. Truly loved the G80, however, it lacked soul. Plus, I was never a fan of the S58...
Absolutely an extremely enjoyable and easy going car during mundane driving.
One of the few cars I’ve owned, where I can drive it all week for work (60 miles a day), and still get that special feeling on the weekends.
I’ve owned my manual 5BW for 10 months and 9k miles. I grew somewhat bored...
I actually bought mine from Cincinatti Cadillac May of last year and had it shipped. But I’ve utilized RH for the initial state inspection and a couple visits for the CEL.
I see you're local to me. I'm assuming Rick Hendrick Cadillac has your car? If so, I've dealt with the Service Advisor Joe Waller and a check engine light on my '23 5BW. He was always fantastic.
Sorry to hear this. Please keep us posted.
I hear ya.. The S65 most definitely had a list of issues. I have an empty place in my heart after selling my 2011 manual E90 M3 about 8 years ago. It only had 40k miles, but I had the TAs and IACV replaced, never touched the RBs. It felt fast when I owned it, but now owning a 5BW, everything...
