You are all too young. I was hanging out at Deer Park (my HS days) back in the late 70's with my cousins 1972 Chevelle SS. This was when there were real muscle cars ! V8's with 4 barrel carburetors and traction bars !
If you guys didn't know, I have been doing meet ups with my Dodge Challenger , my Caddy convertible and now my Blackwing. Fridays is Bellmore LIRR Station ($5 fee admission), usually have to get there by 5-5:30pm to secure an easy spot. Sunday mornings is Captree Marina where the charter boats...
I bought mine and the next day called. They just asked for the VIN to confirm ownership. Especially easy for them if you ordered the car from a dealer and didn't buy second hand.
Get ready for an extended wait. Winter months are the best because you avoid the Las Vegas summer heat. When I was there , they only had CT4-BW (5 auto/5 stick) CT5-BW (5 auto/5 stick). 20 total Blackwings available. Hence the the lengthy wait for a date.
On the otherside, there were over...
I have never trusted those stupid 172 point inspection reports. They probably only actually check 25 things that are obvious and then just check every other box as if it was done.
This is all strictly hammer and dolly work with some Bondo thrown in. If it is done correctly, it will only be noticed if you look for it or know what to look for. It won't look 100% like a robot built door skin.
The #1 concern will be the paint. And like I said, silver and metallic paints...
That is an easy fix. The problem is making absolutely sure that the paint matches. I am 99% sure that they will be blending into the adjoining door and from experience, silver is very difficult to match.
If it took forever to get this car and you don't want to wait for another , let them fix...
In my 40 years of buying/selling cars. I have only came out on top, 2X. In 2016 I got a 2016 leftover ,fully loaded Chevy Cruze LT Premier Edition for $10K under the sticker. Paid $22k for a $32k car. It was the last one on the lot and the 2017's were arriving and it was supposed to be...
I turned mine off. I have a double gate in my driveway. While backing out, the sensor thinks I am about to hit something and gives me whiplash. I guess when I finally do hit something, I will be pist about turning it off.
Unfortunately, I will be enroute to sunny Florida for a few weeks. Hopefully we can meet up again later this season.
*** I will NOT be taking my 5BW to Florida. I'm paranoid about getting stone chips from trucks. I was definitely thinking about taking the ride though !
This is my 1967 deVille convertible with my 2022 CT5-V Blackwing. I've owned the 67' since I was 12 years old. My Dad bought it new in 1967 ($5700) and he parked it in the back of our family auto body shop in 1972. When I was 12 years old (1976) I asked him what he was going to do with it, he...
I immediately saw the problem in your video. The car is painted "yellow". I couldn't help myself ! I do genuinely feel sorry for your situation and hope it is resolved with something minor.
